How much is my Pokémon card collection worth?
Updated 15 Oct 2026 · Prices: Cardmarket, 30-day average
You value a Pokémon collection by identifying each card by set and number, looking up its Cardmarket price (ideally the 30-day average) and adjusting for condition and language. Most cards are worth little: of 19,917 priced cards, 56% are under €1 and only 3% cost €100 or more. So the value of a collection almost always sits in a few cards — the job is to find them.
Step by step
- Pre-sort. Commons and non-holo cards in one pile; holos, ex/V/GX cards, illustration rares and vintage cards (before 2003) in another. The second pile carries almost all the value.
- Identify. The bottom of the card shows the set symbol and number, for example 4/102. That pins down the exact print, even when the same Pokémon exists in a hundred versions.
- Look up the price. For every card in the second pile, the 30-day average on Cardmarket. Trend and from-price jump around more; the guide Pokémon set value explains why.
- Condition and language. Prices are for Near Mint. Creases, whitening and scratches easily cost half. English, German and Japanese cards have their own prices.
- Add up — honestly. The total is market value, not what you get when selling. Fees and shipping come off, and buyers of whole collections rarely pay every single price.
