Printable placeholder cards for your Pokémon binder

Placeholders are printed proxy cards in original size that hold the spot of a missing card in your binder. The binder looks finished before every card has arrived, and each gap tells you exactly which card is still missing. For master sets and Pokédex binders it is the easiest way to keep the order.
Why use placeholder cards?
- The order is fixed from day one. If you collect a set by number you never have to re-sort: every new card replaces exactly one placeholder.
- Your shopping list lives in the binder. Every grey card is a card you still need — with name, number and set.
- The page already works. Half-empty pockets look unfinished; placeholders look like a plan.
How to print placeholders properly
- Original size. A Pokémon card measures 63 × 88 mm (2.5 × 3.5 in). Choose "Actual size" or 100 % in the print dialog, not "Fit to page".
- Black and white. Greyscale saves ink and makes it obvious that it is not a real card.
- Plain paper is fine. The sleeve holds the sheet. For more stiffness use 160 gsm paper or put a bulk card behind it.
- Cut along the grid. Nine cards fit on one A4 or Letter sheet — exactly one 9-pocket binder page.
What you must not do
Placeholders are for your own binder. They must not be sold, traded or passed off as real cards. That is why they are black and white and carry a watermark.
Placeholders with Binderplan
In Binderplan you lay out your binder pocket by pocket — a whole set, a master set with reverse holos or a Pokédex binder in one click — and print the placeholders as a PDF: nine cards per sheet, original size, in the order of your pages. The free account includes two placeholder PDFs per month. Every set also has a printable checklist.
